Rains expected, danger of flood rises

Met Office has predicted new spell of monsoon for central and upper parts of the country on Saturday.
According to Met Office, the new spell of monsoon rains will last for three days and rains are predicted for central and upper parts of the country. Rain in Islamabad and Rawalpindi turned the weather pleasant. Met Office has also predicted rains for Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Peshawar.
Meanwhile, severe dust storm lashed lower Sindh including Hyderabad. The speeding winds damaged electricity and communication installations.
After heavy rains in upper parts of the country, low floods also predicted in all major rivers of Pakistan, met office said.
Meanwhile The Flood Forecasting Division has predicted that River Chenab will have high flooding at Marala and Khanki on saturday.
It said that high flooding is expected at Marala from 11 am to 8 pm with a discharge of 170,000 to 220,000 cusecs while 140,000 cusecs of discharge is expected at Khanki from 8 pm to 8 am on Sunday. Floodwater is feared to enter the low lying areas of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin.
