The Finance Ministry has released Rs10 billion to the Ministry of Water and Power for making payments against dues to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
The officials of Water and Power Ministry told media that the ministry had been directed to release Rs10 billion as dues in lieu of power subsidy. The said amount has been released, they confirmed.
The Finance Ministry also instructed that the released fund be used for clearing dues against subsidy pertaining to the current financial year and not the previous one.
