Deputy Prime Minister Chaudary Pervaiz Elahi has advised Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to spare a welfare organization like Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) from the negativity of its traditional politics of revenge.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, he said it was unfortunate that PML-N was criticizing a hospital that had rendered matchless services to cancer patients from across the country. He termed the Nawaz League as morally deprived. According to Elahi, it was in bad taste to criticize a non political welfare institution which had provided latest and quality treatment to millions of cancer patients without any discrimination. He added that the tirade against the institution would not hurt Imran Khan as much as it would hurt the cancer patients. He stated that government hospitals in Punjab were in bad condition, and doctors and patients were treated miserably by the provincial government. He said that PML-N should refrain from victimizing a great institution just to settle political scores with its founder.
