Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday assured the Balochistan government that the Centre was giving top priority to development projects in Balochistan and it had decided to release all necessary funds so that the projects could be completed in time.
Ashraf was talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani who called on the prime minister to thank him for his keen interest in the early completion of development projects in Balochistan.
The prime minister said work on the Kachi Canal Project, Dadu-Khuzdar transmission line and Kallat-Quetta-Chaman Road were being fast tracked so that they were completed within the year. These projects, he said, would bring about a great impact in increasing the standard of living of the people of Balochistan. Raisani thanked the prime minister for his keen interest in matters of Balochistan and assured that the provincial government would extend all possible assistance in the completion of these strategic projects. Raisani also assured the PM that the provincial government would take up work on Mirani Dam on priority basis so that the water stored in dam could be utilized for irrigation and bring more areas under cultivation.
He also briefed the prime minister on law and order in the province and measures being taken by the government to bring an end to incidents of kidnapping and targeted killings.
PM assures Opp of resolving issues through cooperation: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Thursday assured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of resolving all outstanding issues through reconciliation and mutual understanding. Talking to Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on the telephone, Ashraf hoped that all issues between the government and the opposition would be resolved through dialogue and in spirit of understanding.
