Lydia Barraza assumes charge as US press attaché

Lydia Barraza assumed charge as the Press Attaché at US Consulate General in Lahore, succeeding Leslie Nunez Goodman. She would serve here for two years. Barraza was previously assigned to the US Embassy in New Delhi, India, where she served as Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer overseeing North India. Prior to that she served at the US Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria, where she worked in the Consular and Political sections. Here she covered human trafficking, human rights and democratic reforms. Before joining the State Department, Barraza was a fellow for the American India Foundation and worked in New Delhi with an NGO focusing on HIV/AIDS.
