Tall claims of Sindh provincial government and livestock department to overcome “Rani Khait” fell flat as two more precious birds became victims of the terrible disease on Thursday, raising the death toll to 169.
According to wildlife department sources, despite the presence of teams consisting of veterinary experts and medicines to cure the disease, the problem has not been overcome. The residents of affected areas seem alarmed over the situation and were repeatedly demanding authorities to control the disease as soon as possible.
The non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working for saving precious and majestic birds have also expressed concerns over the massive deaths of peacocks.
The dwellers of Tharparkar have notified to stage protest if more teams and medicines were not dispatched for the area to cure “Rani Khait”.
