Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hasan on Wednesday asked the nation to observe Friday, (August 3) as a day of solidarity with the Myanmar Muslims against the atrocities being committed against them in Burma.
In a statement issued from JI Secretariat, he called upon the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the world community to adopt immediate measures to stop the massacre of the Myanmar Muslims.
He urged the government to demand a special UN General Assembly meeting on the issue and an end to the killing of the Burmese Muslims.
He said that the UN and other champions of world peace were blind to the genocide of the Burmese Muslims and the repeated incidents of their burning alive. He said that about four million Muslims were facing the worst type of persecution and terrorism.
They were ready to migrate to save their lives but were being taken in custody.
He expressed the view that if immediate attention was not given to the matter, it would end up in a major human tragedy.
He urged the people to join the rallies tomorrow in large numbers to raise awareness on the issue.
I am not too sure if any reader pays attention to the statements of this gentleman._He is prepared to offer solidarity to muslims 3000kM away, but not to his ouwn country and country-men.
