Three more peacocks die of Rani Khait in Tharparkar, toll mounts to 165

Dreadful “Rani Khait” continued to claim lives of precious peacocks as three more died despite tall claims of wildlife department, poultry experts and provincial government of solid steps to overcome the disease.
Though in some areas of Tharparkar efforts were being made through sprays, vaccination but still authorities have not been able to completely overcome the disease.
With death of three more peacocks in Bhanjan and Bapohar wildlife parks of Tharparkar on Wednesday, total toll has mounted to 165.
Livestock and poultry experts were of the opinion that efforts were being put to overcome the disease and it was hoped that situation would improve in next few days.
Meanwhile, local people said that hens and cocks affected of the disease were the major cause of spread of disease and they should be disposed off first.
