‘Aao Mil K Hansein’ sells like hot cakes

“Aao Mil Ke Hasein,” a book published by the National Book Foundation (NBF) hit book stores in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The book attracted a good number of buyers on its day of launch.
This book is a collection of traditional folklore, anecdotes and quotes. Sources for the content have been taken from Asian countries like Japan, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Malaysia.
It is a translated version of the original tales authored by Ashfaq Saleem Mirza. The stories have been passed on from generation to generation, which is evident from the richness of the text.
The stories are humorous in nature and are based on life morals and important subtle messages.
The stories are good depictions of the cultures in which they originated and help in understanding alien customs effectively.
The book is short and direct, which makes it an easy and enjoyable read. The translated version of the book is in Urdu.
The publication is primarily meant for children and young adults, but can prove attractive for people of all age groups.
Essay competition on ‘science and peace’: National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) will organise essay competition “Science and Peace” in collaboration with Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), in first week of August.
The main objective is to promote peace through scientific endeavors and to promote science and the application of scientific knowledge for the welfare of people.
Talking to APP, NAYS President Aftab Ahmed said the essay competition will also help to recognise technology, uncovering the real causes of conflicts, the introduction of safe, scientifically proven technologies for national security and global peace and to encourage the people, to adopt these tools to claim sovereignty over their lives.
He said the winning essays will be published in NAYS e-newsletter.
