Advisor to the prime minister, Aslam Gill visited the residence of widow of renowned poet and intellectual Habib Jalib on Monday. He handed over a cheque of Rs 0.5 million on behalf of PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to the widow as financial assistance. The advisor spent time with the widow and inquired after her health. He said the PM had especially sent him to Lahore to present the cheque in person for her medical treatment. Gill said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had great respect for actors and men of arts. He added that Benazir Bhutto strived for the welfare of artists and intellectuals during her lifetime.
