Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas on Sunday ordered Secretary transport Sindh to immediately present a report about shifting/construction of truck terminal and asked the departments of Home, Transport, Implementation, police and KMC to jointly ensure expeditious action on their part to this effect.
He was presiding over a review meeting in his office.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Suhail Akbar Shah, Secretaries Aijaz Ali Khan, Nazar Muhammad Kalhoro, Iqbal Mahmood, and Muhammad Hussain Syed.
A presentation in the meeting suggested that construction of truck stand could be started in any suitable area of National Highway or Super Highway or RCD High Way.
The chief secretary asked the stakeholders to express their views, if any, within two days.
It was also pointed out in the meeting that Karachi city’s issues like pollution, traffic jams and wastage of time etc. could be minimized if the truck Terminal Project was implemented.
