138 accused busted in 3 days

The Karachi police, in a drive against criminals, arrested 138 accused during the past three days, a police statement said on Monday. It said further that those arrested included 40 absconders and two proclaimed offenders.
The statement said that in 18 encounters with the police, 11 gangs of criminals were busted during the period.
“As many as 72 pistols/revolvers, two rifles/repeaters, two SMGs, one mouser, two daggers, 20 mobile phones and cash recovered from the possession of the accused,” the statement added.
Man kills wife, mother-in-law: One Asif Khaskheli allegedly shot dead his wife Moomal and mother-in-law Rashida in Mirpurbathoro town on Monday.
Police said that an altercation arose when Asif went to bring his wife from her mother’s house, on which he took out pistol and shot dead his wife and mother-in-law. Bodies of both the women were shifted to local government hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Police arrested Asif and also recovered pistol from him for further investigations.

The activists were holding demonstration against a murder attempt on Syed Hashim Shah, Syed Hassan Shah, Syed Bachal Shah, Syed Ismail Shah and Faqeer Ghullam Ali. The activist appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, President of Pakistan, DIG Hyderabad and SSP Jamshoro for protection because the culprits were giving threats to them. They demanded immediate arrest the responsible.

21 dengue cases reported in a week

As many as 21 more new dengue fever cases in a week were reported in the city on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 126 since January 2012.
Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department had earlier confirmed that as many as 13 new cases of dengue fever were reported in the city in the last five days while 21 in a week.
As per details, the dengue affected patients were under treatment in Civil, Jinnah and other local hospitals.
According to the Dengue Surveillance Cell, the growth of dengue mosquitoes would increase after rain which might cause its spread. Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne infection; it can be asymptomatic, but commonly causes a severe flu-like illness.
