Asking his party workers to start preparations for the upcoming elections, President Asif Ali Zardari has claimed that he is the spiritual son of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He said that he was a follower of Bhutto and would lead the PPP, the party that he co-chairs now, to astounding success in the coming elections.
He has said that the next general elections would be held on time which he claimed would be transparent and free, and expressed confidence that the next general elections would see PPP form up government in all the four provinces, including Punjab.
He was speaking to the local people at Larkana and Khairpur on Sunday where he listened to their problems and issued on the spot orders to solve them. He directed the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) workers to start preparations for the upcoming general elections.
He said that the opponents of the party have panicked after seeing PPP’s popularity.
The PPP co-chairman reassured that the elections would take place in time and the PPP’s reconciliatory politics would continue. He praised the party workers for their sacrifices for the party.
He also asked the people to keep close watch on the development activities in their areas. The President expressed the confidence PPP will sweep the upcoming elections as it has served masses following the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. During his talks with Sindh MPAs Nawab Wasan Khan and Manzoor Wasan, he also expressed his satisfaction at massive development of Sindh, in the form of many mega projects alongside a major decline in unemployment.
Earlier, the president also interacted with locals of Naudero and after enquiring about their problems, issued on-spot orders for their relief. The president advised Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro to spend more time in Larkana to help resolve the problems of the people. Speaking on the occasion, he said that history was a witness to the degrading conditions of human life while many politicians had merely limited themselves to TV politics. He said that PPP had formed its government amid the blood of its martyrs. On this occasion, he announced that he would personally sit in Punjab government after forming the next government there. President Zardari said Shahbaz Sharif is was in power in Punjab only due to his kindness. “Had I ever wanted, I could have even refused easily the government in Punjab to Mian Nawaz Sharif,” he added. He said Benazir Income Support Programme was working successfully to reduce poverty. President Zardari said concrete measures were being taken to reduce power load-shedding by implementing long and short terms plans. He hoped that the power shortage crisis would be resolved soon. Affirming that the national politics was within his foresight, he announced that this political war would continue at all times, assuring that elections would be transparent and fair. He scoffed at those who had conspired against former PM Yousaf Raza Gilani to dethrone him but said that he had become a “new PPP loyalist”. He also talked about surviving the intense heat and torture of jails he had suffered which was “nothing compared to prevalent spell,” quipping that he even had the keys of his former jail cell in his possession.

  5. There is not one single thing in zardari that is "presidential". He still could pass for someone selling movie tickets. If he is following the foot steps of ZAB then God save Paksitan because ZAB split the country in two due to his hunger and lust for power. zardari seems to be on the same mission.

      • @Anti-Nawaz. Don't worry about who I am. Just worry about getting a bit of education and maybe buy some brains so you won't look totally stupid on this forum. Your answer does not tell me anything presidential about zardari. If you don't have an answer, just say so. I won't blame you. Afterall, you are a jiayala and we all know they are a little bit lower breed of people. Actually more closer to baboons than humans. If you can come up with some accomplishements of zardari that were good for Pakistan and its people we'd all like to hear.

Those days only thing we could listen, read, speak or to think was how we can kick Musharraf out of Government, out of this country and then, out of this world if given an opportunity. Our minds were at our inventive best to find new and creative ways to abuse him. Female members of his family were at receiving end with all the positions one could imagine. We were so used of cursing Musharraf that, I often wonder what we will do once Musharraf will be gone. Because our nation had become like a Junkie addicted to the drug named” CURSING MUSHARRAF” and if this drug is no more available we will also perish. But luckily I was wrong as our great nation is here to live forever along with this God given country. As the stock of CURSING MUSHARRAF was finished from the warehouses of our media pundits, so called civil society bigwigs and God send kind of Analysts, they immediately developed a new product “ZARDARI BASHING” and what a sigh of relief that was. Since then our nation is living and surviving on this drug and there is no need to worry for future because we have such geniuses in our nation that after this we will come up with new variety. These drugs will never let us see that problems of this country are not affiliated with one single human being. A single person cannot be blamed for all the woes and wrong doings and neither one can be credited with all the good things. A human being should be treated what he is. But we always create either a devil or an angel out of him. By throwing out Musharraf , Zardari or Nawaz Sharif and bringing Imran Khan, Iftikhar Chaudhary to replace them will not solve any problem of this country. The problems we have in hand are real and we are being given dreams of to solve these problems in matter of days and months which is far from reality. When these promises and claims are not fulfilled we feel let down, cheated, our expectations shattered and it hurts us very badly which ultimately results in our anger going to boiling point. Our leaders and TO BE leaders must have to speak truth and reality and we as a nation have to admit these truths and make up our minds to live with it. Otherwise we will find a Raja Pervaiz Ashraf every now and then, who during Musharraf era so proudly announced that, if he will come to power, will finish the load shedding within six months. Rest is history now.

  23. If as Zaradri is claimg that ZAB was his spiritual father, then that meas that ZAB was also the spiritual husband of Zardaris mother.
    Furthermore then Benzair was also his spiritual sister.
    By impications then Zardari and his family have been practising spiritual incest.

  25. Spirtuality is a great thing esp .when it is in your favour! First the ex.PM Gilani said Zardari saw the future Preident in him! Now Mr.Zardari maintains that he is the spirtual son of ZAB. who i fear would not have accepted him as his son in law what to speak of spirtualaity. The latter had no no time for such mythical prophecies!
    Please Mr.Zardari fight elections on your own performance rather than the Bhutto name.

  26. If ZAB is Zardari spiritual father then that means ZAB was Zardaris mother spiritual wife and that Zaradris wife Benzair was also his spiritual sister.
    Now I understand why Zaradri added the name Bhutto to his sons name.
    Poor man does not know who his father was or maybe incest has got him confused
