Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that case against Ali Asad has been registered in the alleged passport scandal and British government has been asked to deport him, according to monitoring sources.
Malik said that the alleged story in British tabloid was a conspiracy and probe into the matter has been completed which proves that NADRA and passport systems are intact.
Malik further said that Ali Assad colluded with the tabloid to malign Pakistan’s image, adding that the government would write to the British authorities asking them to deport him.
Meanwhile, Abid Chaudhry was also being investigated by authorites, he said, but has not been arrested so far.
He also revealed that two NADRA and Passport Office officials were in FIA custody for allegedly accepting kickbacks.
