The British High Commission has discarded the investigations by the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) pertaining to the Olympics passport scam, which has jeopardized the credibility of passport and ID card issuing authority in Pakistan, a private TV channel reported on Friday. The British High Commission’s report came in reply to FIA’s letter written to the commission. The report said British tabloid The Sun agent Ali Asad came to Pakistan on a British passport and managed to get a fake CNIC and a machine-readable Pakistani passport on the specifics of “Mohammad Ali Asad”. The FIA officials claimed that the high commission’s report had tried to conceal certain facts. Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan’s federal cabinet decided to take legal action against the British tabloid for publishing a fabricated report on Pakistan’s passport-issuing authority. The cabinet had announced its decision to sue the UK-based tabloid for a story published in the paper on Monday, July 23, which alleged that a group of travel agents and a politician were involved in a scam, which allowed anyone to travel with the Pakistani Olympic contingent as support staff if they paid a certain amount of money.
British embassy officials (Including white British) accept bribes for giving out visas. The High Commissioner should set his house in order.
Any evidence should be sent to the relevant authorities. I would be happy to see corrupt people charged and removed.
People who commit such crimes do not leave evidence behind. BTW, British High Commissioner should send the evidence to the relevant authorities too.
Moreover, it's not the job of the public to present evidence. Everyone knows there is huge corruption in the British immigration system specially in Pakistan. British High Commission is making large amounts of money by charging people for the visa in Pakistan. That's why most criminals in Pakistan are able to move to the UK while genuine applicants are left behind.
Pakistanis are the world leader in Visa forgery, its not surprising, we all know that, this is not first time such incident happened, all the time these stuff happen, the only difference this time is that they are caught.
Even a small time delegation and all kinds of people take people with them and leave them in western countries for money.
These kind of frauds happen around the globe. Several People accompanying the Indian squad vanished in Sydney in 2000 Olympics but were later caught.
The problem is that British High Commission staff is part of such visa frauds. That's why almost all criminals from Pakistan get a UK visa but those with genuine papers are refused.
India has the highest number of fake students in the UK.
Pakistanis should not apply for a UK visa. UK has no respect for Pakistanis. They have high visa fees and are making lots of money by exploiting the negative feelings of Pakistanis about their country. The fact is that they hate Pakistanis.
The British should stop all Visa`s for Pakistanis and send back all that live in the UK. They are nothing but Taxi drivers and we can find Taxi drivers from Poland.
And still Pakistani's will insist on going to the UK and USA. They will queue up for long hours and pay exorbitant fees to get out of that sh*thole. They will bring all their wealth, however gotten and buy property in the West, have huge bank accounts there. Is there little wonder that the US/UK have very little, if any respect for Pakistani's….
After all how many of their non-Pakistani citizens would bring all their wealth to Pakistan and leave it there. NONE.
Students should stay in Pakistan and get their degrees here. The level of education in the UK is going downhill. The universities there are just appropriating the foreign students' money.
