The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Quest for Economic Development (QED), a UK-based civil society organisation, have decided to work jointly to improve the living conditions of the poor living in the far-flung areas of the country.
This was stated by QED Deputy Chief Executive Officer Adeeba Malik, currently in Pakistan. Both the institutions are in the process of strengthening short-term and long-term relationships for resource mobilisation, developing synergies and undertaking joint activities.
“The QED will link Pakistani diaspora in the UK with PPAF for development projects in their native districts,” she said, adding that both the institutions would also collaborate across a range of activities. “It will be a wonderful opportunity for a strategic partnership between Pakistani diaspora and PPAF,” she maintained.
Impressed by PPAF’s quality of work, transparency, services and systems, she said, the QED would leverage PPAF’s national outreach in Pakistan to provide facilities to the poor in inaccessible regions of Pakistan. The research done by PPAF would be used for alleviating poverty and helping poor communities across the country.
