Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Farhatullah Babar on Friday expressed concern over the remarks made by the Supreme Court judges about the parliament. While addressing the Senate session, Babar said that the ruling of the National Assembly speaker had been overturned and the dignity of the parliament was continuously being hurt. He said that the SC registrar had been summoned by the Public Accounts Committee but he had been avoiding appearance. Babar said the judiciary should also uphold the parliament in the same manner as the parliament holds the judiciary. He further said that the judiciary should exercise restraint by keeping in view its jurisdiction.

  1. SC is unelected and judges are govt servants. How can they reject a law passed by an elected Parl;iament, because Parliament is creator of constitution and no other institution is sovereign except parliament

    • Who says. That is exactly what judges are supposed to do. If a Government oversteps its bounds or make ridiculous laws like the Cotempt Law, courts have the authority to strike them down.

  2. Judges know their bounds. They only ignore them. They have done it so many times in our history by validating military take-overs and taking oaths under PCOs. Some of them have the honour of taking oath not once but twice like our honourable Familygate Dual PCO Judge Iftikhar.

  3. Farhat ullah Babar should think before he says anything. He is one of most imcompetent person read idiot.
