Capital lacks parking places

Lack of parking facilities in commercial areas of the federal capital are creating problems for the commuters and this phenomena is worsening with every passing day.
According to details, main commercial centres in the city, including Aabpara, Melody and Blue Area are facing acute shortage of parking places. These areas remain packed with vehicles during offices timings and till late night.
This situation is further worsening as Eidul Fitr is approaching and the number of people who go for shopping is increasing with every passing day. People who come for shopping have to wait for hours to park their vehicles at appropriate places.
Irfan Qazi, the owner of a book store in Blue Area, said that due to poor parking facilities and lack of some sufficient space, he parks his vehicles away from his shop. He said that due to rush of vehicles it takes five to ten minutes to find parking space near the shop. Qazi said the city administrators should solve the parking problems of the capital immediately.
Mariam Atif told that sufficient parking space is not available in the commercial centers including Aabpara market and Super Market. She said that these places are ideal places for shopping but parking facilities are poor in these areas. After parking vehicle one remains worried regarding the security issues of the vehicle, Mariam added. Raja Asad, a traffic official, said that people are not well educated about how they should park their vehicles in the busiest shopping centres. He said that if vehicles are parked properly, less space would be used, leaving more parking area for others.
Polio threat increasing in capital: The threat of polio in the federal capital is increasing after the Afghan and Pashtun communities living in the slums of the city have refused to get their children vaccinated against polio.
As per reports, despite the CDA’s effective measures to administer polio drops to children within the capital territory, the Afghan and Pashtun communities living in sectors I-11 and H-10 have refused the polio drops after the ban on polio vaccine by the Taliban in FATA.
