The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to issue the third summons to Dr Faqir Hussain, registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, following his inability to appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Friday. The accountability watchdog will issue the summons to Dr Hussain in his private capacity, strictly in accordance with the directions given by the Supreme Court in its order dated July 26, 2012. Since Dr Hussain would be summoned in his private capacity, the summons would be sent at his residential address. Any correspondence by Dr Hussain as Registrar or by using the official letterhead of the Supreme Court henceforth would not be entertained by the JIT to the extent of his version or contention in the case. The summons would likely be issued for his personal appearance before the JIT some time next week. The JIT has also sought the services of Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA) of UK for technical assistance and to ensure complete transparency in the process of evidence gathering in this case.
