The KMC Metropolitan commissioner has said that municipal problems of new truck stand at Hawksbay including cleanliness of drains, construction and repairing of inner roads and availability of street lights would be resolved soon.
He said that KMC would fully cooperate to make this truck stand according to international standard.
He said this during a meeting with the delegation of Karachi Goods Career Association in which KGCA president Muhammad Khalid Khan, Vice President Rana Muhammad Aslam, Joint Secretary Syed Noor Shah, Senior Vice President Malik Sher Khan and other officials were present.
Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan assured the delegation to resolve their municipal problems on priority basis especially cleanliness of drains due to incoming monsoon season would be done immediately whereas inside roads of truck stand would be reconstructed along with the availability of street lights.
He said that a good number of heavy vehicles visit new truck stand Hawksbay, therefore it was essential to provide municipal facilities at this truck stand so that the transporters could operate in an excellent environment.
He said that Hawksbay seaside was an important and joyous place for citizens and the project of new truck stand was initiated to provide traveling facilities to the citizens therefore KMC in this connection will fully cooperate to provide traveling facilities to the citizens and to make new truck stand on modern lines.
During the meeting president of Karachi Goods Career Association, Muhammad Khalid Khan said that almost 5 to 7 thousand trucks visit this truck stand on daily basis therefore there were lots of municipal problems.
He said cleanliness of drains was required on priority basis with better drainage of storm water so that the area could be made safe from any inconvenience during monsoon season. Meanwhile the delegation of Sindh Goods Truck Trailers Owners Association headed by Al-Haaj Malik Ahmed Khan also called on Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan.
Metropolitan Commissioner ensured the delegation about solving their municipal problems including action against encroachments, renovation of toilets, cleanliness of drains, and renovation of inside roads with parking area and availability of plantation for greenbelt soon.
