The Pakistani Taliban Thursday threatened to attack Myanmar to avenge crimes against the Muslim Rohingya, unless Pakistan halts all relations with the government and shuts its embassy in Islamabad.
In a rare statement focused on the plight of Muslims abroad, the umbrella Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) group sought to present itself as a defender of Muslim men and women in Myanmar, saying “we will take revenge of your blood”.
Spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan demanded that the Pakistani government halt all relations with Myanmar and close down its embassy in Islamabad.
“Otherwise we will not only attack Burmese interests anywhere but will also attack the Pakistani fellows of Burma one by one,” he said in a statement.
The Myanmar embassy in Islamabad was not immediately reachable for comment.
The TTP frequently claims attacks on security forces but its ability to wage violence in countries further afield has been questioned.
But US officials say there is evidence the group was behind a failed 2010 attempt to bomb Times Square in New York, for which Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad was jailed for life.
TTP leader Hakimullah Mehsud has also been charged in the United States over the killings of seven CIA agents who died when a Jordanian Al-Qaeda double agent blew himself up at a US base in Afghanistan in December 2009.
Recent clashes in western Myanmar between Buddhist ethnic Rakhine and Muslim Rohingya have left dozens dead and tens of thousands homeless.
Last week, Amnesty International said hundreds of people, mostly men and boys, have been detained in sweeps of areas heavily populated by the Rohingya, with almost all held incommunicado and some ill-treated.
Most arrests appear to have been “arbitrary and discriminatory” and Amnesty said there were “credible reports” of abuses — including rape, destruction of property and unlawful killings — by both Rakhine Buddhists and the security forces.
Decades of discrimination have left the Rohingya stateless, and they are viewed by the United Nations as one of the world’s most persecuted minorities.
When the U.N.O or any other peaace loving super powers or any so-called Human right organisation are failed to protect the minorities Rohingya ,there was only choice left for Talibans to protect the innocent muslims being slaughtered in this country.Taliban are right bcoz these powers have given them chance to protect as they failed to do so

BRING IT! We Myanmar have never been known to be gentle with people who oppose us. Just ask the Thais. If the Taliban or any other Muslim group are so concerned about their so called "brothers" then TAKE THEM! It's strange how Bangladesh a mostly Muslim country immediately closed their border when all the trouble was happening in Rakhine.
The Taliban are a bunch of cowards who refuse to fight in a conventional manner, so at the end of the day, they can just go rattle their collective sabres somewhere else because we Myanmar have absolutely no issues with double tapping each and every one of them.
We face a new threatening from taliban that is never happened in previous decades or in our history. That threatening is a new strategy to lunch their jihad attack on Myanmar soil. We against such threatening and their purpose to attack Myanmar citizens not only in Pakistan but all around the world. We respect other religious and their cultures which we lived together for a long times. We explained everything we can about the truth of crisis in rakine that is still continuing in the hostile region. Our President also said that these rohingya are not the ethnic group of our people and he even proposed to send them to the third country if they wish to have them or place them in the refuge camps that is supported by UNHCR. We can't do nothing more for them. So, let me tell you taliban.
If you wish to attack us then do it so. But remember one thing. We are not likes the american. We respect human rights but if it is concern to our National Security, although we love peace, we will not hold back again like we did in rakine. We will fight you with everything we have to defend our country, our nation, our people and for our generation. We will not rest until such threatening are resolved entirely. And also remember, we are not the one who started this threatening.
