Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday called Interior Adviser Rehman Malik “the mastermind” of Olympics passport scandal, saying he should be nabbed and put on trial. Talking to reporters, Sanaullah said Malik was an agent of foreign spy agencies and he received “monthlies” from passport offices. He said the Olympics passport scandal was a blemish on the dignity of the country and it had defamed Pakistan across the globe. The law minister claimed that due to bad governance and anti-masses policies, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would face defeat in the next general election. Sanaullah said the PPP had several accomplices of former dictator General (r) Pervez Musharraf in the party to betray the masses. Meanwhile, Malik has directed his legal counsel to serve a defamation notice of Rs 10 billion to the Punjab law minister for leveling false allegations in the passport scam. In a statement issued, Malik said Sanaullah leveled baseless allegations against him just to please his party leadership.
