Former President General (rtd.) Pervez Musharraf said Osama bin Laden’s presence in Pakistan was negligence rather than a conspiracy.
Talking to a US-based news channel in an interview, Musharraf asserted he can say with conviction that none in the government or the clandestine agencies knew about Bin Laden’s presence in Pakistan.
The former Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) said that it was not possible that secret services kept information concealed as he was both army chief as well as president of the country.
Even if people in higher echelons hid information regarding OBL, someone from the lower ranks must have unfolded it to him, he noted.
