Following the terrorist attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Faiz Ahmed Leghari has directed the law enforcement agencies to ensure foolproof security to Chinese working on different developmental projects in the province.
Presiding a high level meeting at Central Police Office in Karachi, IG Sindh said that the effective measures should be taken for the provision of security to the Chinese residing in Karachi and other part of the province.
During the meeting IG Sindh directed DIGs of Sukkhar, Hyderabad, Larkana and Mirpur Khas to submit comprehensive report of Karokari cells which were being run by district level police.
Meanwhile, all four DIGs have submitted comprehensive crime report to IG Sindh pertaining to current year crimes including ransom, kidnapping, highway robbery cases and others while Leghari further directed the concerning police officials to ensure the deployment of smart and active policemen equipped with latest weapons at High ways toll plazas.
He said that details of police workforce would be sent to provincial government seeking approval of additional human force for the efficient police system in the province, adding that shortage of human force must be pointed out in the report.
“With the help of community policing system all possible endeavors must be taken to build friendly environment between police and the public”, he said.
He said that prime responsibility of police was to ensure the safety of public life and property, adding that well trained police officers and staff would be deputed in 15 help center setup across the city.
