Ashraf for cooperation with Japan

Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Oe called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at PM House and said that diplomatic relations between the two countries during last 60 years have been remarkable for the benefit of two countries.
The prime minister expressed his satisfaction over the bilateral relations, trade and investment that maintained an upward trend. The prime minister said that Pakistan regarded Japan as an important friend and development partner.
He underscored the importance of realizing the full potential of trade and investment between the two countries.
“Our two countries have great scope to enhance cooperation in the fields of defence, security and economic cooperation”, he said, adding Japan is an important player for peace, progress and stability in the region.
The prime minister highly appreciated the Japanese government’s assistance for polio eradication in Pakistan.
He lauded the generous assistance of Japan during the earthquake and floods in the country.
The Japanese Ambassador said that he was happy to know that relations between USA and Pakistan were improving.
The ambassador said that his country would like to see Pakistan a Polio free country .
The prime minister told the ambassador that the government was making all efforts to eradicate Polio from the country. He said that we would not rest unless we achieved the goal of a polio-free Pakistan.
