In an apparent effort to avoid controversial situations and promote transparency and objectivity in the field of electronic journalism, the management of DunyNews TV channel has come up with a code of conduct for their anchors, after a much publicised saga involving two of their primetime talk show hosts, Mubasher Lucman and Mehar Bukhari, and a property tycoon, Malik Riaz, involved in an ongoing case against the son of Chief Justice of Pakistan, put the channel in the way of many a scathing word and searing eye. The code of conduct, the implementation of which will be overseen by a three-member editorial board, calls for “honesty, accuracy, objectivity and transparency” as its “guiding principles”.
