Tom Cruise is searching for a luxury home in New York so he can spend as much time as possible with daughter Suri. Following his divorce the star intends to increase his time in the city, where his ex-wife Katie Holmes is making her home. The actress was granted primary custody of their six-year-old in their settlement, with Cruise retaining visitation rights. A source told the New York Post newspaper: ‘Tom’s looking for a new home here. He wants a fresh start.’ ‘He doesn’t want to go back to the East Village apartment where he was living with Katie. ‘He’s looking for something that’s very private where he won’t have to deal with going through a lobby, and people outside all the time.’ Cruise kept the couple’s home in Beverly Hills, where he lives with his son 17-year-old Connor. His eldest daughter Isabella, 19, lives in an apartment nearby. The 50-year-old told friends his main concern is having enough space for Suri to play in. One friend said: ‘He also wants to have a nice amount of space for Suri, with outdoor space. ‘That could mean high-end luxury apartments, but he’s also looking at houses outside of the city or in gated communities.’ Cruise flew into London yesterday after spending the previous three days with Suri in New York. The Minority Report actor, 50, looked a little tired from his travels and grueling film schedule of late. It is believed Cruise is in London to prepare for his next film, All You Need Is Kill, after having just wrapped filming on Oblivion, which was shot in Iceland and then California.
