Alpine Club mountaineering team meets DG PSB

A group of 12-member Mountaineering team led by President Alpine Club of Pakistan, Lt. Col retd Manzoor Hussain met with the Director General, Pakistan Sports Board on Tuesday at Islamabad.
The team has arrived after completing an expedition of Spantik Peak in record time of 13 days. This expedition was organized jointly by Pakistan and China on the occasion of 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Pakistan & China, celebrated in 2011, said a spokesman of PSB here.
The expedition comprised six climbers from China Mountaineering Association (CMA) headed by Mr. Luo Shen and six climbers from Alpine Club of Pakistan under the leadership of Lt. Col retd Dr. Abdul Jabbar Bhatti.
Director General, PSB warmly welcomed the team and congratulated them on completion of the expedition in record time of 13 days. D.G, PSB also greeted the President of CMA and Alpine Club of Pakistan on the successful conclusion of the expedition.
DG, PSB desired that such programmes should be continued between the two neighbour countries and more exchange of youth mountaineering camps will also be organized and encouraged in future.
