Fight for Water continues

Water shortage persists in some parts of Chaklala and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board during the holy month of Ramadan while majority of the areas could not be provided water on daily basis.
Moreover, water supply could not be provided to several new localities where supply lines were laid down a year ago. The residents of these areas are facing problems have to bring water from far-off places as water consumption increases many times during summer.
They said that they had paid connection fees and six-month advance bill, but due to slackness of the authorities concerned they had failed to ensure provision of water supply.
On the other hand, Tench Bhatta, People’s Colony, Dhoke Seydian, Westridge, Peshawar Road No 4 to 5, Mareer Hassan and Janhd Chachi were also not supplied water, causing inconvenience and problems for the dwellers of the localities.
When contacted, Engineer Attique Chaudhry of RCB said that water situation had improved and only one complaint was received on Sunday, adding that consumers were also provided water through tankers in accordance with the need.
