Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Monday claimed that the minor who had lost his life during the Young Doctors Association (YDA) protests had died a natural death.
The four doctors who had been on duty in the Paediatrics Department at Mayo hospital submitted an affidavit that no drips had been pulled from Fahad, the child who had lost his life under their care. The PMA spokesman said after this development, it was proved that the 302 FIR lodged against the doctors had been based on assumptions and political agendas. He said that the four doctors in their statements had said that the child was suffering from a heart disease and was in a critical condition when he had been brought in. He claimed that the doctors tried to resuscitate the child through artificial means, massaged his heart and treated him for six hours to no avail. He said the FIR that had been lodged against the doctors without any evidence and after these revelations, the police and the government should withdraw their FIR, so that the doctors can continue to do their jobs peacefully.
