Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) had started work on its project of setting solar power plants at the pumping stations to ensure smooth supply of water in the city, said a KWSB release on Sunday.
For this purpose, the statement said, KWSB had been engaged in talks with famous solar energy research Chinese firm CEEGE. The Chief of this firm Yuming Sun along with his team had earlier visited KWSB and held meetings with Managing Director KWSB Misbahuddin Fareed and other senior officers. KWSB Managing Director discussed in detail the electricity problem facing KWSB that caused disruptions in water supply to the city.
It was agreed that KWSB would provide the related data to the Chinese company, whose experts would then come up with a formal technical plan after analysis of the data/information.
