Aligarhian vows to establish SSUET-like university in BD

An Aligarhian from Bangladesh has pledged to establish a university in his country on the pattern of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSET) Karachi. “SSUET Karachi was established by Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association,” said a release on Sunday.
General Secretary of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys Association, Dhakka (Bangladesh) Prof Dr Shah Kausar Mustafa, during his visit to the SSUET, expressed his commitment to establish a university of engineering and technology on the model of SSUET.
He described the establishment of Sir Syed University a virtual fulfillment of the mission of great reformer and educationist Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
He acknowledged that the services rendered in this regard by Chancellor Z A Nizami and late Zakir Ali Khan would remain alive along with the mission of Sir Syed. On the occasion Absar Mustafa, another guest from Aligarh, described Sir Syed University an ideal educational institution and said the quality of its laboratories were impressive.
“The merit is strictly observed while giving admissions here,” he said.
He emphasized that more admissions should be given to foreign students for dully projecting SSUET identity in the world.
He informed that all possible facilities were provided to students at Aligarh Muslim University where students were charged only Rs 9 as hostel fee along with water and electricity charges.
Welcoming the distinguished visitors, the Convener Aligarh Institute of Technology (ATI) Engr Mohammad Adil Usman (Alig) said that Aligarh spirit was imbibed in their souls and was their real guide.
He said that every success could be achieved, only if it was followed in letter and spirit.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jawed Husain Rizvi praised Dr Shah Kauser Mustafa’s mission and assured all support and cooperation in successfully establishing an engineering and technology university in Bangladesh like SSUET Karachi.
