Jamil Rana Advocate on Friday filed a petition in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry against the immunity to the president and prime minister.
As per the Article 248 of the Constitution, which provides immunity to the president and the prime minister, he pleaded that constitutional immunity is un-Islamic as it is against the Quran and Sunnah.
The advocate further explained in the petition that Article 248 is against the Islamic laws and the federal government formulated it. It has been constituted to provide protection to the high-ups and influential personalities in different cases.
He prayed the court to declare it unconstitutional.
