Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan has said the ill-framed policies of the rulers had darkened Pakistan’s future as Washington had imposed a fine of $ 650 million on Pakistan for suspension of NATO supplies, considering it a needy state.
Addressing a large Friday congregation at Mansoora here, he said the cowardly and shameless rulers in Islamabad were keen to restore NATO supplies even without a ‘sorry’ from Washington, and it was only due to public pressure that US offered regrets on the Salala killings.
The JI Ameer said the enemy’s strength or its arms and ammunitions did not matter for those fighting in the way of Allah as apparently unarmed people had inflicted defeats on heavily armed armies.
In the modern era, he said, Afghanistan had distinguished itself for defeating super powers. After Britain and Soviet Union, the US and its 44 allies were facing a crushing defeat at the hands of the Afghans whereas the cowardly Pakistani rulers, trembling under the US pressure, had restored NATO supplies endangering the country’s independence and sovereignty.
Syed Munawar Hasan stressed upon the religious circles to start a campaign to redress public grievances during the holy month of Ramadan. He said the people ruling the country had snatched every thing from the masses and the religious leadership should come forward to mitigate the suffering of the public. He said that corruption and loot could not end without declaring the Quran and the Sunnah as the supreme law of the country. He said the massive participation in the religious alliance rallies had cleared the way for a revolution and the religious leadership should step forward to lead the nation. The ruling junta, he said, was out to deprive the masses of the last morsel of food as the prices of essentials had shot up before the advent of Ramadan. The people in power seemed to be blind to the worries of the people, he regretted.
