Commodore Abdul Aleem has been promoted to the rank of rear admiral with immediate effect. The flag officer has vast experience of command and staff appointments. His distinguished appointments at Naval Headquarters include principal secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff and Chief Inspector (Navy). The flag officer has also commanded Counter-Piracy Task Force 151, the 25th PN Destroyer Squadron, Guided Missile Destroyer and PN Training Establishment, PNS BAHADUR. His professional courses include specialisation in advance telecommunication from France and bachelor degree in naval sciences and war studies. He is a graduate of PN War College and National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad, and holds MSc degree in strategic studies. In recognition of his meritorious services, he has been awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).
