Will someone fix Sector G-14? It’s been 8 years!

Frustrated allotees on Thursday complained that a mafia in the Housing Department and the slackness of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation was delaying the development of Sector G-14 of the capital despite passage of eight years.
Some of the allotees, while talking to INP, complained that the land mafia had manipulated housing foundation, district administration and PWD, adding that officers of three departments had been allegedly supporting the land mafia.
They said that the PWD conducted a survey of the houses, but did not submit its reply in Islamabad High Court (IHC) during the last hearing and the court has directed the PWD to submit its reply on next hearing.
Later, the housing secretary called a special meeting on G-14 and gave a roadmap.
It was decided in the meeting to advertise tenders in the first week of January to begin work on the project, but the revised plan was still lying unimplemented.
Sources said that pre-qualification of the construction firms had been completed, but the work could not be commenced in G-14 Sector.
The allottees have demanded of the concerned authorities to start development work in G-14 Sector and initiate action against the land mafia.
