The US is continuing anti-terror cooperation with Pakistan, the State Department said on Thursday giving no specific word on a House of Representatives move proposing $ 650 million cut in aid for the country in the next fiscal year.
Spokesman Patrick Ventrell said the administration was consulting the Congress but giving no particular comment on the cut in aid. He added that the support to Pakistan countering terrorism would continue.
Earlier, the House had passed legislation, stating a cut in security aid for Pakistan by $ 650 million that will have to be passed by Senate to become effective.
If the legislation is passed, it would be applicable on US aid for Pakistan in the next 2013 fiscal year, which starts on October 1, 2012.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman has said that talks are in progress with Congressional leaders to have a better understanding of Islamabad’s position on various ongoing issues.
Never mind $650 million just cut all aid of any description to this failed terrorist state & let them implode into killing each other until there none of them left or maybe allah will save them from themselves
