The residents of Sector I-10/2 have accused the Capital Development Authority (CDA) water supply authorities of demanding bribe for ensuring smooth flow of water in their area. The residents of I-10 Sector told online that they had complained to the water tanker inquiry service in I-9 about water shortage in the areas, but the civic agency had not taken steps to redress the complaints and failed to ensure smooth supply of water. They also complained that the CDA officials were involved in selling water to the industrial area in Sector I-10/3, which was causing shortage of water in the whole sector. They added that the CDA officials who supplied water to the area demanded bribe from the residents and only those streets or houses were supplied water that paid bribes while the remaining were left in miserable condition. Akram Burq, a resident of 1/10-2, said that the residents had registered complaints with inquiry services of the civic agency, but still they had not responded to their hardships. He further said that the CDA officials were also taking extra charges for water tankers, which was unjust and unfair with the already price-stricken masses. He also pointed out another unfortunate factor that those who used their influence were getting an uninterrupted supply while others were completely ignored. The residents of the area vowed to come on the roads and warned of severe consequence if smooth supply was not ensured to the area. They also appealed to the high-ups of the CDA to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply of water to the sector.
