SC seeks record of Uzma Ayub’s brother’s murder case

The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to produce relevant police record on July 20 over a murder case of Alamzeb Khattak, the brother of Uzma Ayub, alleged gang rape victim of Karak district. A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain took up an appeal of Zafranullah, brother of Uzma Ayub, against bails granted to four accused by the Peshawar High Court. During the course of the proceedings, Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi, represented the petitioner and sought time to submit relevant police report over the incident.
he bench was apprised that the case was being heard in the trial court and the accused had been charged framed. Uzma Ayub appeared and blamed accused ASI Hakim Khan of murdering his brother in court’s premises on December 9 last year with help of his accomplices. Expressing concerns over her life, she said that those accused of rape by her were out to eliminate her.
