A moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted northwestern areas of Pakistan including Islamabad.
According to metrological department, the tremors were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, FATA, Swat, Abbottabad, Mardan and surrounding areas in Pakistan and parts of Afghanistan.
The metrological department said the epicenter of earthquake was near Pakistan- Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
No casualty and damage was reported so far.
