Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the ongoing anti-polio drive in the rural areas of Islamabad at a meeting chaired by him and directed the mobile teams to work with more dedication and devotion to achieve the target successfully. District Health Officer Dr M Azhar told the participants that 30,047 children were administered anti-polio drops during the first two days in the rural areas of Islamabad. He added that the medical officers of 12 union councils along with independent observers were visiting the remote areas to check the work of the polio teams. The assistant commissioners and magistrates also submitted their reports about monitoring, performance of the teams and visits to slum and nomadic settlements in the rural areas. The DC directed the DHO, the assistant commissioners, magistrates, medical Officers, in-charges and supervisors of the mobile teams to ensure 100 per cent success of the ongoing immunisation campaign at all cost, adding monitoring of the teams should be made stricter.
