President of Account General (AG) Office Union was shot dead in Islampura area of the city, on Thursday.
According to police, 55-year-old Bux Elahi was standing with his son, near a petrol pump when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him.
He was dead on the spot.
Soon after the incident, his family members and colleagues gathered and staged a protest against the murder.
They also protested at Mayo Hospital.
The family of deceased told that he was receiving threats since last few days.
It is also to be mentioned, that the employees of the AG office union are on strike for an increase in their salaries.
