Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday said Dr Shakil Afridi’s life was in danger as he had been threatened that he might be shot or poisoned.
Talking to reporters, Hussain said the threats were the reason the provincial government wanted Afridi shifted to some other place and had requested the authorities to make arrangements in this regard.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa information minister said the Punjab government should launch an unbiased investigation into the murders of trainee policemen in Lahore and take action against those responsible.
He said the KP government had investigated the negligence of the officials present at the time of attack on Bannu Jail.
Hussain said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s policy on foreigners was clear, adding that no foreigner including Afghan nationals could live in Pakistan without required documentation. He said directions had been given to the police in this regard.
