Member of one of the rivalling gangs in Lahore, Malik Ahsan, was shot dead by unidentified men in the Gawal Mandi area opposite King Edward University on Tuesday.
Ahsan and his friend, Imdad Hussain, were passing from close to Neela Gumbad when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them, killing Ahsan and critically injuring Hussain.
The victims were rushed to the Mayo Hospital. Later, the family members of Ahsan held a protest demonstration against the police for not taking Ahsan to the hospital in time. The SHO reached the spot and assured the family that the murderers would be arrested soon.
