Of vendettas and vindication

The entire issue of the leaked tapes has left a lot of strain on me personally but also on my family, friends or well wishers. My interviews on different channels and YouTube have definitely brought some respite; but there are those who will not let go of the opportunity to make abusive remarks – not in person but mostly on social media. I am told some are paid by a specific band of vested interests, whilst others riding on a false wave of morality just wish to vent for apparently no reason.

Meanwhile, as I pick up scattered pieces one by one and gather them to re-build, some newspapers plastered news about me fleeing from the country. So much for their professional journalistic ethics. So far, no anchor has taken up my challenge of showing mid-break footage of their shows for the benefit of general audiences. For then, the masses will know for sure that a few individuals who out of professional jealousy made a mountain out of a molehill misguided them. Not that it is either wrong or wicked in any way but that it is just a routine to chat with anyone on the show during mid-breaks. Additionally, to claim that no one calls during the show to give an opinion or pitch questions is misleading and untrue.

Some people – in pursuit of their personal vendettas (because I exposed them) or due to professional jealousy (because my sustained ratings worry them) – went overboard trying to portray a twisted picture. I honestly believe that even the Honourable Supreme Court has not been given the complete picture and once the honourable judges see how edited information has been forwarded to them, they too will not spare anyone who is guilty. The matter is in the apex court now and they will take any decisions pertaining to it.

In the meanwhile, I have to attend to some accusations on the personal front. Those who thought they could get away with telling scathing lies about me are definitely mistaken. For I am not the kind of a person who will sit back and let someone growl for no reason. Today, I have conveyed to my lawyer to file charges against Sheikh Waqas Akram of PML(Q) for his false allegations and fictitious remarks pertaining to our meeting. His remarks – much like his degree and votes – were bogus. He amongst other things claimed that I offered him money not to go against Royal Palm Club. This time I have news for Sheikh Waqas. I shall not only sue him but also those present in the meeting irrespective of what that does to my personal associations with anyone. This time, I will not just be filing defamation charges but I will also be filing criminal charges to ensure speedy justice. For I truly believe he had criminal intent when he falsely accused me. I have a right to defend my honour and hard-earned reputation and I cannot let a stray creature with a malevolent comprehension get away trying to malign my family and me.

Some friends also asked me to sue Khwaja Asif for his remarks. I have never met the gentleman and I know he does not really know me except through my shows. I believe, he as a party leader thought he was within his rights to get even with a person who he or his fellow colleagues felt offended by for whatever reason. If PML(N) or anyone from its ranks admonishes me, I shall not hold it against them personally; for, over a period of time, I have developed a reputation for doing anti-Punjab government shows. It was neither deliberate nor intended as such. But if I were one of them, I too may feel the same way. (This is of course hindsight intelligence). In response to my YouTube video, a lot of people asked me why I have done anti-PML(N) shows in abundance. My only defence is that when a party controls almost 63% of the country with an absolute tight grip, it cannot be absolved of any charges that we charge the federal government with. Whilst I have done numerous shows against the ruling coalition in Islamabad, and am the only one who did extensive shows repeatedly against the Gilani family, it still seems a lot of folks either forget or choose to deliberately ignore that fact.

On the day one of hearing in the Supreme Court, the lawyer representing PEMRA made a very articulate point but no one was interested in his point of view at that time. PEMRA it seems has sent notices to almost 8 channels for showing stolen footage; but even today some are bent upon creating a hero out of a thief. I wish we would adjust our moral compasses because when a society facilitates thefts or hero-worships a thief, then it has very little character to hang on to. Will those who repeatedly misinformed the public and the honourable courts be brought to justice? I don’t think so. For at the moment, we seem to be convinced that the ends justify the means. And that is a matter of serious concern…

  1. Agreed. Forget all these blabbering B^t^hes and start your show. We know you did not do anything out of the ordinary. When someone driving range rover is not questioned why should you be targeted. Just forget all these unemployed keyboards and do your show.

  2. Dear oh dear. Mr.Lucman…you surely never learn. First you must foist on us your version of morality and ethics, but your consistent articles in this esteemed newspaper betray the fact that you are wallowing in self-pity, public loathing, and a deep rooted desire to howl like a lycanthrope. I can understand that you are trying to pick up the "scattered pieces", but my advice to you is this…don't bother…no one really cares about you.
You think you can go over to ARY and amuse us with further assinine antics on some other channel…well let me lay it on the line for you one more time…at the risk of repeating myself…no one really cares about you.
You and your ilk are like stains on the crisp white shirt of the medie and it is better than you whimper in silence instead of howling in public. Just stay down and lick your wounds if it makes you feel better. But please dont go around trying to tell us that it is a molehill or that the judiciary is being misled. God knows that the CJ is already a cockeyed judge, but please dont make him out to be blind. You have sucked on teh teat of power of a corrupt dictator and now you are having your comeuppance. So sit back, get that stupid looking slug off your lower lip, and please…PLEASE…stop writing your stupid apologies for the public…remember…no one cares about you. ARY may have you but the nation has rejected you. Nuff said.

I felt so disappointed and cheated by these 2 that I gave up watching other anchors except only TALAT because of this lot (anchors) are just like this worthless Luqman and Mehr.

  10. And what makes me more angry that this guy still have the courage to talk about ethics after being friends of the most corrupt in Pakistan like Riaz Dekadar and Monis Elahi. Man if I see this guy Luqman I wont hesitate a second in spitting on his disgraceful face.

  12. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Does anyone recall the shows where he used to rubbish the judiciary. He has suddenly found respect for the Supreme Court.
Mr. Lucman lift right buttercup and blow it out…..

  13. Chorain mubsahar sab yeh batein to chalti rehti hain, yeah batayen, yeh jo naya promo banaya hay jo kay ditto copy hay, yeh copy ka mashwara kiska tha…!? ek promo nahe bana saktay khud..! BTW theya re suing you for intelectual theft….in an international court, so I recommend you cancel all your local court things and head toward international court

  14. Mr Lucman may hv been caught with his pant down….but there are many like him who are on the payroll of the govt or international media etc; who are blabbering poison against our Country & nobody seem to notice that …? when are we going to grow up..?

    • Oye lucman..I know this is you pretending to be someone else again…only a retard like you would conjure up such a name in your desperation for public support.
      Go.shave.Now.

  15. Well well Mr. luqman if you know something about the term whistleblower you should not have written this article telling us about ETHICS and THEFT.

A whistleblower is a person who tells the public or someone in authority about alleged dishonest or illegal activities (misconduct) occurring in a government department, a public or private organization, or a company. The alleged misconduct may be classified in many ways; for example, a violation of a law, rule, regulation and/or a direct threat to public interest, such as fraud, health/safety violations, and corruption. Whistleblowers may make their allegations internally (for example, to other people within the accused organization) or externally (to regulators, law enforcement agencies, to the media or to groups concerned with the issues).

whistleblowers are protected by LAWS in many developed countries. so the person you are referring to as a thieve isn't really a thief. He has done what he ought to have done.

He is a HERO to us and not a thief.

  16. stop croaking M_L
you are just a toad trying above others to be heard in the rainy season…..
we've had enough of you…thank you and be off!!!

  17. its wrong to blame Lucman before listening to his point of view. I challenge all those commenting here against Lucman to come on TV and say something against Sharifs and Gilanis and then you will learn that going against politicians in this is how much dangerous. Lucman even if you corrupt you are not more than corrupt than me..an ordinanry citizen of this Holy Land who speaks 100 lies in a day and still claims to be a good critic.

    • Oh hoh…Lucman!!!!! stop writing under pseudonyms. be quiet and go die in whatever way seems fitting to you

  18. "Whilst I have done numerous shows against the ruling coalition in Islamabad, and am the only one who did extensive shows repeatedly against the Gilani family"
and yet you got a call from Musa gillani during your show.lol.

  19. Mr Luqman do you remember the way of talking with Dr. Faqeer Husain Registrar Supreme Court in your show. You proved to be a mercenary of Riaz Thekedar. Trying to justify your bad deeds is worse than doing bad deeds. You have lost your respect and trust in the eyes of your viewers and it is better for you to suicide plunging in a ditch.

  20. This gentleman is not trustworthy. He is PTI spokesperson. He was trying to bring Imran and Zardari together on the expenses of Malik Riaz. He has been exposed.
