The wait for residents of the metropolis to see the latest attractions at the Karachi Zoo is finally over.
A pair of white lions and Bengal tigers was unveiled on Tuesday as hundreds flocked to the Karachi Zoo to see them. Those who seemed to enjoy the unveiling the most were children who were spell bounded by the beauty of the animals. The white lions have been brought in from South Africa and are only 24 months old. The Bengal tigers brought from Belgium are temporarily being kept at the Karachi Zoo and will be shifted to Safari Park. The white lion is occasionally found in wildlife reserves in South Africa and is a rare colour mutation of the Kruger subspecies of lion (Panthera leo krugeri). It has been perpetuated by selective breeding in zoos around the world. The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) is a tiger subspecies native to the Bengal region of South Asia, and is the national animal of India and Bangladesh. The Bengal tiger is the most numerous tiger subspecies with populations estimated at 1,520–1,909 in India, 440 in Bangladesh, 124–229 in Nepal and 67–81 in Bhutan.

  1. You don't have to go to the zoo to see the animals. All you have to do is go to a ppp rally. You'll see all kinds of animals like dogs, skunks, wesels, snakes etc. Some of them you can even see on TV sometimes. Look at the cabinet and you'll see a variety of animals. Some are even imported (rehman malik, haqqani, farah naz, etc). Sometimes they hold a comedy show too. Just look at the next press conference 🙂
