In an act of outright breach of Supreme Court’s orders, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has not vacated government’s house of Housing Ministry in Karachi and has occupied the house for the last 5 years.
ANF had acquired a House No 12-A in Eyes Land Karachi from the Housing Ministry for then Director ANF Brigadier Karim Bukhari in 2007.
Sources said that after the transfer of Brigadier Karim Bukhari from Karachi, ANF had to return back that house to the ministry. But the ANF Director Brigadier Karim Bukhari handed over the house to his successor Brigadier Muhammad Bashir. This was not all as the house was then handed over to Brigadier Muhammad Wajid by his predecessor.
Sources revealed further that the Ministry of Housing and Works had filed a petition no 1498/2011 in the Supreme Court against the illegal occupying of the house by the ANF.
Upon which SC, in its judgment, stated that houses could only be acquired and left under the rules of Housing Ministry. After the judgment of SC, the Ministry of Housing and Works had summoned outstanding dues including the utility bills of the house of previous 5 years, while the ANF had not informed the Housing Ministry so far in this regard.
This has also been learnt that ANF has started to mount pressure over the Housing Ministry to transfer house in the name of Brigadier Muhammad Wajid.
