Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas on Monday asked all the deputy commissioners to furnish the data relevant to the land record to the Board of Revenue Sindh, expeditiously with a view to preserve the same. An official said that for the purpose facilitation centres were being established in all 27 districts of Sindh under the auspices of Board of Revenue Sindh.
The Chief Secretary while presiding a review meeting noted that the 27 property record facilitation centres – one in each district headquarter – were under construction. Senior member Board of Revenue Shahzar Shamoon apprised the meeting that except for two deputy commissioners all had offered land for construction of facilitation centres.
It was also informed in the meeting that efforts were being made for preservation of record in the Directorate of Survey through settlement and land record by scanning, microfilming, cataloging and digitalization of maps.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of two other projects i.e. computerization and establishment of Land Administration and Revenue Management Information System (LARMIS) and creation of GIS (Geographical Information System) for Land Administration and Revenue Management in Sindh. The chief secretary instructed to do the needful for expeditious accomplishment of the projects.
