The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Fayyaz Leghari on Monday called for an extra-ordinary security plan to be followed during the coming month of Ramazan. He directed that for devising such a strategy special attention would be paid towards consultations with all the stakeholders as well as the Ulema, so as to ensure fostering religious harmony.
The IGP instructed that meetings with industrialists and businessmen of the industrial zones and markets would also be held at all levels for finalizing the Ramazan security plan and every effort would be made for its implementation.
He also directed that contacts with Pakistan Rangers, Sindh and other organizations would be strengthened for the exchange of intelligence and other required information. He called for concrete steps for the security of mosques, Imam Bargahs and Namaz and Tarehvi congregations.
He directed further that police picketing, patrolling and random checking at the designated places be ensured and that the ban on carrying and exhibition of weapons and aerial firing should also be implemented effectively.
