Security arrangements in the federal capital for the month of Ramadan were reviewed at meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner here on Monday.
The meeting was attended by the officials of administration, Islamabad police and C.D.A. Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad informed the participants that the administration has also held a meeting with the religious leaders to beef up security of worship places during Ramadan and security arrangements for worship places were finalised in coordination and cooperation with them.
The religious leaders assured the administration that they would completely comply with the code of conduct issued by the Islamabad Auqaf Department. The religious scholars would play their important role in promoting religious harmony and brotherhood during Ramadan.
It was agreed that only one gate of mosques would be kept opened and one or two volunteers would be deployed at the gate by mosque committees. Mosque committees have also been activated and their meetings at police station level are being held to further improve security of worship places. The religious scholars assured that loudspeakers would be used as per law and volume of loudspeakers would be kept at low level.
It was decided at the meeting that the assistant commissioner, SHOs, magistrates and SDPOs would conduct joint patrolling during the prayer timings, especially during Sehar, Iftar and Taraveeh prayers and would review the security arrangements.
